Regenerative Therapies

Regenerative therapies are a method of using your horse’s own biological anti-inflammatories to address joint pain and inflammation. TD Equine has the ability to use Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP), IRAP or Pro-Stride to aid in lameness treatment and therapy as an alternative to steroid injections. In some cases, the use of regenerative therapies may be indicated for a horse where steroid injections cannot be used.

Shockwave Therapy

As a key component in performance maintenance for many horses with a variety of soft tissue/boney injuries, shockwave therapy can play an integral role in a sooner return to function, pain relief, stimulating metabolism and boosting circulation to injured tissue. This therapy is a non-invasive treatment option that involves pulses of low energy acoustic waves applied locally to an area of injury.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound is an adjunctive therapy that uses high frequency sound waves to stimulate tissue healing by improving circulation to an area of injury, as well as to mitigate pain. Wound healing, back pain are among examples that may benefit from therapeutic ultrasound.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a non-invasive adjunctive therapy that works to mitigate neck and back pain as nerve fibers exit the spinal cord with a variety of medications injected just below the skin in the ‘mesoderm’. Injectants often include a steroid, various homeopathic treatments and anti-inflammatories.
